Creating EZ Passage Throughout Maryland

For more than 30 years, the Maryland Transportation Authority has been responsible for constructing, managing, operating and improving the State's toll facilities, as well as for financing new revenue-producing transportation projects. Our goal is to provide Maryland’s families—and visitors—with safe and convenient transport facilities.

The Authority oversees a total of seven toll facilities: a turnpike, two tunnels and four bridges. These facilities are what help keep traffic moving into, and out of, Maryland. All of our projects and services are funded through tolls paid by the customers who use our facilities.

Our Mission

The Maryland Transportation Authority is committed to serving as financial steward of its dedicated revenue sources and providing vital transportation links that move people and promote commerce in Maryland.
